McGowan Institute Director Points to Hybrid Future for Regenerative Medicine
 
 
With more than 1,000 invention disclosures submitted, 220 patents issued, and 203 licenses executed, including 34 spinout companies, the approximately 250 McGowan-affiliated faculty and their students have established a track record for commercial translation unrivaled at Pitt. Pitt Startup Peptilogics Awarded Grant From Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
The award will support preclinical research in a new class of engineered antibacterial peptides intended to serve as the first line of defense against pathogens,  including bacteria that live in the airways of the lungs of cystic fibrosis patients and resist common antibiotic treatments.
